In the spring of 2017 I was asked to Illustrate for the student magazine RISS for their LIMBO edition. They wanted illustrations that associated with various interpretations of the Limbo state, and the feeling of being stuck in a situation without power to move forward or take a step back. They wanted the written contributions to explore a wide range of possible interpretations of the concept.
For the cover illustration I explored feelings and motifs of being suspended, enclosed in something unknown, and more abstract states like being surrounded by colour and light, inspired by typical stories of near death experiences.
The figure drawings are inspired by situations in everyday life where we are waiting, or are lost in thought, or episodes when we experience some deeper sense of disorientation and confusion.
